SIMPLE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Unzip the distribution file if necessary and put the 
HDI driver files in a clean temporary directory or folder.


Start AutoCAD. Select Menu: File. Select: Plotter Manager.
Or open Autodesk Plotter Manager directly if available.


Then Double click: Add-A-Plotter Wizard

Answer Wizard's questions until you get to the page titled 
"Add Plotter - Plotter Model" containing the list of
manufacturers and models.

Press "Have Disk"

Locate and open the kip*.hif file.

   Note: Included are two sets of driver files: 
      kip6.* for AutoCAD 2000 (HDI version 6) 
      kip7.* for AutoCAD 2000i or 2002 (HDI version 7)
      kip8.* for AutoCAD 2004 or 2005 (HDI version 8)

   Be sure to select:
      kip6.hif for AutoCAD 2000
      kip7.hif for AutoCAD 2000i or 2002
      kip8.hif for AutoCAD 2004 or 2005

Select Manufacturer: KIP

Select your plotter model

Complete any additional Add-A-Plotter Wizard steps.


TROUBLESHOOTING:
If AutoCAD or the PC3 Plotter Configuration Editor reports errors 
about incompatible Heidi or HDI driver versions, do the following:

1. Go to the "DRV" folder that in under your main AutoCAD folder.

2. Remove kip driver files that do not apply:

   For AutoCAD 2000 applications, remove any kip7.* or kip8.* files,
   so that only kip6.* files remain. 

   For AutoCAD 2000i and 2002 applications, remove any kip6.* or kip8.* files,
   so that only kip7.* files remain.

   For AutoCAD 2004 or 2005 applications, remove any kip6.* or kip7.* files,
   so that only kip8.* files remain.

3. If there are no kip*.* files in the "DRV" folder,
   use the installation instructions above.
